Gurgaon was merely a village till 1819. Later when Gurgaon was converted to district and an ICS British officer, F.L. Bryne was posted as Deputy Commissioner here and his second son, named John Goble Bryne died at an early age and grand hall was built in his memory. It was later also renamed as Agricultural Hall and is used for holding meeting and functions.
