Vishal Kapur set up VKSD Studio, a Surface and Handicraft Design Studio, in 2005 and has been actively involved in creating innovative collections for home décor as well as for fashion applications. He specialises in handicraft based interior art installations. The Studio focuses on helping the handicraft sector to sustain its traditional craft and prevent it from getting lost in the jargons of the modern world. Traditional crafts where the studio is highly active, include 'zardozi' from Delhi and Bareilly, appliqué from Orissa, block painting from Jaipur, stone powder work from Madhya Pradesh, handloom from Venkatgiri and papier mache from Kashmir.
